Pre Kindergarten at AXL Academy
Building a Strong Foundation for Lifelong Learning
At AXL Academy, our Pre Kindergarten program is designed to inspire curiosity, build confidence, and prepare children for a successful transition into kindergarten. Through hands on learning, play based exploration, and meaningful relationships, our youngest scholars develop the academic, social, and emotional skills they need to thrive.
Led by a licensed Early Childhood Education Director who is bilingual, our program provides a nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to learn, grow, and discover their unique potential.
Our Program
AXL Academy proudly partners with the Aurora Public Schools Early Childhood Education Department to provide high quality Pre Kindergarten programming that follows both AXL Academy's educational approach and school calendar.
We currently offer two enrollment pathways:
Universal Preschool (UPK)
Colorado's Universal Preschool program provides eligible families with tuition support for Pre
Kindergarten. Families must first complete the Colorado UPK application before applying to AXL Academy.
Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP)
Families who qualify through CCAP may also be eligible to enroll in our Pre Kindergarten program.
Program Schedule
Our half day Pre Kindergarten program is offered four days each week:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
Morning Session: 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Afternoon Session: 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM
There are no Pre Kindergarten classes on Wednesdays.
Eligibility
Children are eligible to enroll if they turn four years old on or before October 1 of the school year in which they plan to enroll.
Eligible families who qualify through UPK receive tuition free enrollment for the half day program. Placement is based on program availability and space.
Each class is intentionally kept small, with a maximum of 15 scholars per session, allowing teachers to provide individualized attention and create meaningful connections with every child.

Ready to Enroll?
Enrolling in AXL Academy's Pre Kindergarten program is a simple process. To be considered for enrollment for the 2026 to 2027 school year, please complete the following steps:
Step 1: Apply through Colorado Universal Preschool (UPK)
Log in to the Colorado UPK website and submit an application for your eligible child. When completing your application, be sure to list AXL Academy among your preferred schools. You may also indicate your preferred session, any Individualized Education Program (IEP) services, sibling preference, and other applicable enrollment information.
Step 2: Complete the AXL Academy Application
After submitting your UPK application, complete AXL Academy's internal Pre Kindergarten application using the Apply Now button on this page.
Please note that submitting the AXL Academy application alone does not reserve or guarantee a UPK placement.
Step 3: Stay Connected
Once we receive your application, our Pre Kindergarten Director will contact you with updates, answer any questions, and guide you through the next steps in the enrollment process.
Step 4: Receive Your UPK Eligibility
Within a few weeks, the State of Colorado will notify you of your child's UPK eligibility and placement status.
